According to an article on the WABI website, a late Friday night shooting has left one man in the hospital.

The article explains that the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in the hospital and the investigation is ongoing after an officer-involved shooting in Turner.

Deputies say they were trying to arrest Christopher Lebrun on an outstanding warrant when things took a dangerous turn.

Deputy Fegan tried to pull him over, but Lebrun didn’t stop.  The chase ended at the intersection of North Main Street and General Turner Hill Road when Lebrun crashed into a tree.

When Deputy Fegan went to approach him, investigators say Lebrun pointed a gun at the deputy.

Lebrun was shot twice and taken to a Portland hospital.  Deputy Fegan injured his knee during the incident and was also taken to the hospital but later released.

The Attorney General’s Office is now investigating, and Deputy Fegan has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
