Under normal circumstances the aforementioned headline would be an utter travesty to Central Mainers and world travelers alike. However, despite all the blows that 2020 has dealt us, Augusta's famed Red Barn running out of chicken isn't actually the worst thing to ever happen. Though to people who were waiting for their last delectable morsel of the year last night, it may have felt that way.

According to a post from Laura Benedict on the company's Facebook page, Well I cannot believe I am writing this..we ran out of chicken. That's right Red Barn chicken has run out of chicken. In 43 years this has never happened. I am so incredibly grateful for all of the support you all have shown by coming to see us and give us the best 2020 sendoff in history! Love,Laura

Admittedly, yesterday was the last day of business for The Barn for 2020. Now they don't have a stockpile of it that they have to figure out what to do with.
