Franklin Country residents are planning a demonstration this Wednesday, April 10 to get their jail back. The residents want the jail to return to full operational status, instead of the 72-hour holding facility the state has turned it into, as part of the state's consolidation of the county jail system. The rally and demonstration is this Wednesday, April 10 at 5 p.m. in front of the Franklin County Courthouse on Main Street in downtown Farmington.

Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. will join dozens of area residents to take part in the rally. Residents are upset of sending county taxpayers' dollars to the state to run other jails in Maine.
