Funeral Home Has Bicycle Hearse for Green Funerals

The idea of a ‘green’ funeral appeals to some people and a funeral home in Eugene, Oregon, has taken ‘green’ to another level. They offer one final ride for the dearly departed on three-wheeled bicycle.  The coffin is made of bamboo, which is eco-friendly.

The ride to the grave on the custom-made bicycle hearse doesn’t burn fuel, making the entire process green.   In fact, they give you on last scenic ride through the cemetery but the best thing seems to be the cost. With funerals skyrocketing these days, the eco- friendly burial is about $3,500. The funeral director says he has already taken ‘a ride’ with five bodies and now there is a waiting list. The idea came to him with really only one person in mind, himself.
