WATCH: Mr. Drew & His Animals Forced Out of Lewiston, Maine Mall
After two beautiful years, 50,000 visitors and endless smiles, Mr. Drew and His Animals Too is being told to pack up and go.
In a heartfelt video, Mr. Drew explained to us that the Lewiston Mall is not renewing their lease. It has struck a massive nerve in our twin cities and over thousands have already expressed their sadness and outrage.
Why are they being forced out?
According to the video, they are not leaving because they are bad tenants, but because they “did not fit the business model."

Let’s talk about Mr. Drew & His Animals Too
This isn’t just a pet store, or petting zoo. It’s a educational center that has impacted our community in the best way possible. It’s a hub for all of our local families with so many firsts for the kiddos. Like the first time their kiddo saw a snake, spider or tegu!
Better yet, our children learned about the animals and that’s priceless.

How did this happen?
According to the video, Mr. Drew sat down with mall management and out of nowhere learned that the decision was already made, and wanted him out. “They don’t have a vested interest in this community,” he said, because well, it’s business and they don’t.
The post lit up the Facebook world with commentors sending support and offering suggestions of where to go next. Suggesting local places like the Auburn Mall, Brunswick strips, South Paris the old Elks Lodge and more.
Some proposed setting up a GoFundMe or getting some type of sponsors. One even suggested a boycott of the mall.
The community isn't just rallying they’re roaring.
As far as right now, Mr. Drew is still doing his traveling shows, so don't worry if you booked him for a party or camp event. Those traveling shows will be his primary source of revenue until they find another brick and mortar.
He will always keep us updated but said he will not be answering questions in the comments.
Let's send him our prayers and big thank-yous on changing our view on spiders!
