You know the old saying, 'not all heroes wear capes', right? Well I'm here to say 'ain't that the truth'.

Sometimes heroes are wearing swimming trunks and crocs. And sometimes those heroes haven't even reached the age of majority when they execute their first heroic act. That's exactly what happened last Wednesday in New Hampshire.

According to an article published by The Kennebec Journal, last Wednesday was a day full of recreating on the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. This massive lake, the largest in the Granite State, covers over 72 square miles and is home to more than 200 islands.

As you can imagine, with a lake that size, there's always a lot going on- as was the case last Wednesday. During the day, a local sailing instructor was out in a motorized boat working with students who were in sail boats. While out, the instructor, had stopped to retrieve a tennis ball from the water. That's when one of his nearby student's sailboats tipped to the side, causing the mast to pin the motor boats throttle down and throw the instructor overboard, the Kennebec Journal reported.

After all of that, the boat was driving in circles, with nobody aboard to stop it. That's when 17-year-old, Brady Procon, jumped into action. Procon hopped onto the back of his neighbor's jet-ski and they headed onto the lake and pulled next to the circling boat.

Procon then leapt from the ski and onto the runaway boat. Procon was able to safely bring the boat to a stop, no doubt helping to avoid any serious injury to nearby swimmers and vessels.

Rich Bono, who caught the heroing act on video, said in part about the incident,

“I can hear an engine revving, and I looked down the end of the dock toward the noise and saw a boat circling, circling, circling, and no one was in it. Obviously, that’s not good.”
