Another Legendary Bangor, Maine Bar Has Been Sold
Big changes are coming to Downtown Bangor's nightlife on April 1!
Mark Greenleaf, has been the owner of Carolina's Sports & Spirits, for over 20 years, but he is ready to step down, selling the business to a new owner.
The location at 16 Union Street, has been a nightlife destination for years. It was previously open as "The Waterfront" and "Legends" before Greenleaf took control.

In the past 20 years, they have made several upgrades to the bar, including a heated outdoor area, used for live music.
Who is the new owner?
Dane Morgan will take over the reins, starting on April 1. He brings experience in the restaurant business and has also worked as a DJ.
What will change?
The name for starters. Salt North Taproom, will feature soul food cooked meats, such as jerk chicken, creative craft cocktails, and an outdoor beer garden, that will feature live entertainment.
When will they open?
The new owner plans for a Grand Opening date of Sunday, May 4.
When will Carolina's close?
Carolina's has one more big St. Paddy's Day bash scheduled for the 17th, and one final goodbye party, on March 29. As of April 1, they will be closed to make way for the new ownership.
Be sure to stop in and say goodbye, and thank him for an incredible run, and be sure to check out the all-new Salt North Taproom, when it debuts in May.
What's next for Bangor's nightlife scene? The lack of a proper dance club is one glaring hole. There are a few spots in town where you can go and get your groove on, but nothing new has opened that is strictly a current Top 40 dance club catering to a younger part of Bangor's nightlife.
Only time will tell, till then, party on!
