Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Q*Bert, Missile Command. I'm willing to bet that you have heard of at least one of these arcade games from the 1980s. Even if you didn't grow up in that decade, they're probably still familiar to you.

The 80s may be long gone, but it's not hard to feel like you hopped into a Delorean and went back to 1985 when you see these 5 Maine and New Hampshire arcades still keeping the '80s alive.

Arcadia is a prime example of a classic arcade that looks like something you might find at a mall in the 80s. The difference here is that this place is for the adults, with a bar, a kitchen that serves delicious food, a DJ, and video games and pinball machines that will bring a smile to your face when you see them once again.

Maine Silverball Tavern was opened in 2022 and has pinball machines from the 60s to modern day, including a very cool John Wick pinball machine. There's a handful of classic arcade games too, including a couple of shuffle bowlers, which are a lot of fun. Lots of great local brews are available as well.

Wessie's Den has a mix of pinball and classic arcade games, including a foosball table. Like every location on this list, they have a bar, because we 80s kids grew up and can drink now.

"Where Everybody Knows Your Game" is probably the best slogan for an arcade bar I've ever seen. In case you didn't get the reference, it's from the sitcom Cheers, where everybody knows your name." A great bar, good people, great games.

Funspot - 579 Endicott St N, Laconia, NH

If you want to feel like you went back in time, Funspot is a must. It's the world's largest arcade, and it's home to the American Classic Arcade Museum, which can be found on the top floor. The moment you get to the top of the stairs, you hear the sounds and the music you remember from the 1980s. There are over 250 80s classic arcade games for you to play for the price of just one token, in most cases.
