5 Most Shocking Maine Businesses That Recently Shut Down
I remember the feeling like yesterday when the first round of business closures were announced in 2019 during the world's covid era.
I remember feeling so shocked and genuinely surprised that companies were starting to delete themselves from the community.

The driving force on this blog right now is the way that I couldn't be less shocked anymore when I see another closing announcement and thats so sad isn't it?!
Here's a list of some of the ones that actually did still raise a question mark to people when they closed.
Bullmoose Music Portland, Maine
This one goes first because why? The Portland location was their flagship store and there was never a time I'd walk past their store front and didn't see tons of people inside it. It's cool seeing the "Strange Maine" sign still though.
Maine Indoor Carting Scarborough
I can't even describe to you the tool this took on my heart. It was the first and only of its kind in Maine. Goofy girls love go-karts and Scarborough just goes and takes away all our fun damnit.
Old Port Nutrition Closed
My good friend owned this awesome place and I'll be honest here. I wasn't exactly shocked that Portland's rate of inflation on rent drove her to close.
I was more upset because Portland really needed a shop of its' kind and now I have to go all the way to South Portland for a protein smoothie. However there's a sweet bubble tea place that just went in over there.

Harberdashery Resale Clothing Co Portland
Loved hitting this place on the way home from work since it was on Congress St. downtown. I have so many pieces from them so it wasn't fun to watch them close. The good news is that they just opened up a larger location on Commercial St.
Grit & Grace Crossfit Gorham
Awe so many of my friends lost their memberships to happiness when these guys closed in Gorham. Good news is I can recommend an awesome bootcamp gym in Portland called Dynamics Fitness if you're in the market for some HIIT.
I'll meet you back here with more opinions when the next round of closings hits the news.
