NWS Predicts Above-Average Temperatures for November and December in Maine
If you can remember all the way back to November and December of 2024 in Maine, you'll recall that winter got off to a very slow start in the northeast.
There were batches of chilly days but nothing like November and Decembers of the past, where winter really began to kick in around Thanksgiving.
If last year's more mild end to the calendar made you happy, then you'll probably really love what the National Weather Service is predicting for Maine to close out 2025.
NWS Says Maine Should Remain Seasonably Mild For The Rest of 2025
The National Weather Service has released their 3-month seasonal outlook for the remainder of 2025.
The NWS is predicting that Maine will remain seasonably mild throughout October, November and December.
The context to that is simple. Whatever the typical average is for a given month in Maine, you can add a few degrees to that and it would be above-average.
For instance, in November, Maine typically averages a daytime high in the upper-40's. The NWS suggests that Maine could see consistent daytime highs in the 50's instead.
Maine's Drought Shows No Signs of Letting Up
While the temperature forecast should bring smiles to many faces, the precipitation outlook for the remainder of 2025 is bleak.
Maine continues to be in a sustained drought and the National Weather Service precipitation forecast doesn't bring a lot of hope.
Maine will continue to have 'equal chances' at precipitation. In years past, when there's been a fall or winter with significant rain or snow, the NWS has forecasted above-average precipitation.
That doesn't appear to be the cast for the rest of this year.
