Where to go backpacking in New Hampshire?

After hikers catch the hiking bug, they often want to advance to the next thing...backpacking.

Backpacking is combining hiking and camping... and although it may sound intimidating, it can be broken into manageable day hikes with one or two sleeps in between!

There are certainly massive backpacking opportunities and long treks in New Hampshire. For beginners, there is one backpacking trip that is perfect to start with.

Easiest overnight/backpacking trail in New Hampshire:

From my, minimal, research, there is one trail that seems like a perfect start for a beginner or intermediate backpacker: The Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail.

On that 50-mile trail, you will summit Mount Monadnock (the most climbed mountain in the world) and Mount Sunapee - where you will end your trip. *Or the reverse - starting at Sunapee and ending at Monadnock*

This "Greenway" Trail is one of New Hampshire's best kept secrets. There are multiple 3-sided shelters and one tent platform along the trail.
