Five separate fires in Lewiston on Thursday morning have been ruled to be intentionally set, according to the Lewiston Fire Chief. The fires started between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. and where on Oxford Street, Nichols Street, River Street and two on Howe Street.

Dozens of residents are now homeless and the Red Cross has set up shelter for those that the fire affected.

It was about a year ago that the city went through a breakout of arson fires.
