State Police Thursday afternoon arrested a trucker from Connecticut and charged him with drunk driving after getting a number of complaints of his rig weaving on I-95 between Clinton and Augusta.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Augusta Police coordinated the arrests of two Augusta men and eight persons from out of state, on heroin and methamphetamine charges Wednesday . The arrests took place at the Penley Street house of 32-year-old Peter Gleason, following a police raid there late in the morning.
A Chicago woman, Shemain Miles has been arrested 396 times on various charges. She used 83 different aliases during her nearly 400 arrests, which included 92 for theft, 59 for prostitution and 5 for robbery or attempted robbery. In 1988 alone, she was arrested 35 times and since her first arrest 35 years ago she has averaged 11 arrests per year.
The state Fire Marshal's Office has charged a Bingham man last night with arson. The fires in Bingham destroyed the town's public works garage. Brandon L. Sherwood, 29, was charged with one count of arson.
