It's been a really beautiful thing watching Maine come together to figure out how we can best support each other during this difficult time. It's even more beautiful to see the support trickling in from different states, especially from Boston.
The 13th annual Ride for Wishes is this Saturday. In addition to the ride, there's food, an auction, & live music! All going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Augusta Police Dept will be holding an auction on Saturday, November 5th. The event kicking off at 8am will feature bicycles, tools, and other miscellaneous items. Everything on the block has been confiscated or gone unclaimed.

At the beginning of April in Biddeford at Saco River Auction some very impressive memorabilia was sold from late New York T.V. talk show host Joe Franklin. To think these items were right here in Maine for sale is too cool.
The license plate that was attached to the limousine that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in just sold at auction for $100,000. The plate was expected to go for $40,000.
According to ESPN.com, auction house Lelands.com sold a Deflategate football for $43,740 on behalf of Laura Nichols, and it's believed to be the only Deflategate ball available for public purchase.
The boxing gloves worn by Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston during their 1965 fight from Lewiston, Maine were recently sold at auction. What made that fight so memorable was that it was the infamous 'phantom punch' in the first round. Many say a punch that clearly did not connect, sent Liston down to the mat.
Many served during the Iraq War; I know a lot of soldiers from Maine who were there. Saddam Hussein, who was the president of Iraq for more than 23 years, was captured and hanged for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of his own people.
