Spreading Philadelphia creme cheese on my bagel this morning wasn't exactly an "a-ha" moment. Well, not until I looked a little closer. Check out the fine print on the ownership.
Now, if Robert Kraft's Kraft group had anything to do with this, well THAT would be amazing...
The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the country and with such a huge national celebration come some little white lies. Let’s call them popular legends and rumors. Here are a few:
Zac Brown Band will play an exclusive party prior to Super Bowl 50. Info on the party is hard to come by, like how much it costs, but the price must extremely high.
Kurt Ballard, a student at Harvard University, developed a model for predicting the odds of each NFL team to make this year’s playoffs.
There has been an urban legend for years that sewage systems in major cities have broken, due to so many people flushing their toilets at half-time of the Big Game. The facts are, there has never been a city’s sewage system overloaded during the game.
With the big game coming on February 1 there will be a lot of betting going on. From Las Vegas to office polls, people will put a little money down on who will win the game. The game is not the only thing you can bet on though.
The ‘Big Game’ trailer sells a concept that rides a fine line between totally preposterous and incredible. What if Air Force One was shot down and the President’s escape pod landed in the isolated woods of Finland? What is the President, now pursued by terrorists, only had one ally? What if that one ally was a pre-teen boy armed with a bow? What if the President was played by Samuel L. Jackson? Yeah, ‘Big Game’ is a real movie and we still can’t decide if it’s too ludicrous or just ludicrous enough.
Here on Super Sunday I think back on two of these games that really standout in my memory. The first is the first time the New England Patriots won the big game. They beat St. Louis 20-17 on an Adam Venatieri 48 yard field goal as time ran out.
Well the Big Game is finally almost here. It's Denver and Seattle. The top offense versus the top defense. In my mind, I've been going back and forth with which team I think is going to win the game.
