Here's a country concert you might not have heard about, it's the 'Start of Summer Bash' on Friday, June 17th at Stinchfield (Baseball Field) on the Beach Road in Leeds, Maine. It features Maine's own Cold Blue Steel with an appearance by Brad Mates, lead singer of Emerson Drive!

What an incredible weekend! While everyone else was at the Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter Mountain, NY, I was traveling to Gilford, New Hampshire. And for good reason: Chad and Cold Blue Steel were opening for Trace Adkins! And I HAD to be there! Wouldn't have missed it...even if Hugh Jackman was coming to town!

On Sunday at the Silver Spur in Mechanic Falls, the awards were handed out from a competition held in April. Maine country artists and musicians came from all over to compete and the talent there was incredible! Did your favorite take home a trophy? See the complete list below!

Another Maine band this year is opening for another big act at the Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavillion's on their Magic Hat Stage. Central Maine's own Cold Blue Steel's lead singer, Chad Hood, received the phone call on Friday. Once it was posted to Facebook, well, all heck broke loose!
