Maine DOT Wants Your Help With Humorous Road Safety Signs

So much road work going on in Maine right now! Here's an alert from the Maine DOT.

Looking to save a little gas on your drive to work? The Maine Turnpike Authority and Maine DOT have a program promoting their GO MAINE free statewide commuter assistance program.

The much needed road work on Mount Vernon Avenue in Augusta is set to begin on Monday, July 13th. The state will begin rebuilding the road, the $4.3 million project will finish years of work. Last year part of the road was resurfaced.

This winter was brutal on Maine roads. One of the most beaten up roads in the area is Mount Vernon Avenue in Augusta. Besides resurfacing the road, the project will also involve replacing and improving underground water and sewer pipes, crumbling sidewalks and retaining walls.

It seems like you can't drive for more than a mile within Augusta without seeing road construction and those stop and slow signs. In Augusta, there is road work on route 201, outer route 202, Bangor Street, Whitten Road, and many more locations.

A $13 million dollar project that is underway will close the northbound on-ramp of I-95 Exit 113 in Augusta starting this Monday. The closure of the on-ramp is scheduled to last for approximately 30 days as work crews reconstruct the Exit 113 northbound on-ramp.
