A federal appeals court in New York has become the nation's second court to rule that the Defense Of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. The law was passed in 1996 and it bars federal recognition of same-sex marriages and says states cannot be forced to recognize same-sex marriages from other states.

I wasn’t going to mention this but the more I thought about it the more impressive it is. My parents, on October 6th, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary being married in 1948. Most couples don’t stay together that long for a variety of reasons. Some die before they reach that milestone, some will get divorced before that milestone and some find they made a mistake and never make it together
