Adrianna Lewis will soon be in the Guinness Book of World records for having the worlds ‘longest tongue’.  Lewis, 18, has a tongue that is 4 inches long, so long she can lick her eye.

August 22 is Tongue Twister Day which is the combination of sounds that make people lose control of their mouth or twist their tongue. MIT researchers came up with (what they say) is the world’s hardest tongue twister. Here it is:

Just like in the movie ‘A Christmas Story’, 12 year old Maddie Gilmartin of East Kingston, New Hampshire got her tongue stuck to a flagpole. She was helping her father clear snow during a recent storm and wondered what would happen if she stuck her tongue to the pole. She never saw the movie, so she gave it a try thinking it would come right off, it didn’t.

Some people will go to extremes to lose weight but this new procedure seems way over the top. Dr. Nicholas Chugay has developed a mesh that is sewn to the tongue that makes chewing solid food difficult and painful making the dieter go on a liquid diet.
