2016 marks the centennial anniversary of the National Park Service and our national parks are a great summer family vacation. Fourth graders across the country can get a free park to access the entire park system for a year, part of the Kid in a Park program. Many national parks are offering special programs for kids of all ages.

It looks like Mainers will be voting in November to legalize recreational marijuana. The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol and supporters of their effort have collect over 100,000 signatures and will be delivering the petitions to the Secretary of State in Augusta today.
Election Day Results
Many local communities are holding elections on Tuesday, June 9. The school budgets are on the ballot in Augusta and many other towns and districts. Embden residents will vote on SAD 74 withdrawal. Waterville residents vote on whether to toss the pay-as-you-throw trash and curbside recycling program.

Today is primary election day, Maine Secretary of State, Matthew Dunlap is expecting a low voter turnout of around 15 percent. The biggest draw for today's election is the 2nd district U.S. Congressional primaries. The democrats will choose either Emily Cain or Troy Jackson and the republicans are picking either Bruce Poliquin or Kevin Raye.
