Traffic Alert: I-295 Closure In The Richmond-Gardiner Area Starts Sunday

The section of Interstate 295 between exits 43 and 49 will close at noon this Sunday and reopen on Wednesday, June 10th. That's according to MDOT spokesman Ted Talbot.

A failed culvert along the northbound lanes on Interstate 295 is the reason for the closure.

Northbound traffic will be detoured along Routes 197, 138 and 201 before returning to the interstate in Gardiner. The added travel time should be around 15 minutes.
