New York Daily News columnist Gersh Kuntzman is calling for Major League Baseball to stop playing 'God Bless America' during the seventh inning stretch. Is he for real? What are his reasoning for his point of view?

His article states that 'God Bless America' isn't our national anthem and that asking for fans to stand and take their ballcaps off during the singing of the song is uncalled for.

He adds that the song does embody great things about America, but also some of the worst, like self-righteousness, forced piety earnest self-reverence and foam.

He sites in a recent poll, that 61 percent of those polled, say they don't want the song played during the game.
