Antique Lighthouse Lens Must be Returned to Maine
There has been a dispute over the ownership of two antique lighthouse lenses and a federal judge has ruled in favor of the government.
A Michigan man, Steve Gronow, who has the lenses must surrender them including one that belongs in Maine.
The lenses from Maine, worth about $600,000, is from the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in South Portland. (the other is from a lighthouse in Detroit)
According to pressherald.com the judge ruled in the governments favor because the Coast Guard is still the owner of the lenses and they never gave up ownership.
