My husband has been a firefighter for 26 years. For the last 4 years he has been battling stage 4 cancer. But that has not stopped him. Anytime the pager would go off (even if he was) feeling sick from chemo and radiation or in severe pain, he would still respond to calls. Nothing would stop him. Two years ago he was awarded firefighter of the year from the department. Mike is one happy father now cause our son Johnathan joined the fire department and is following his footsteps. It is something Mike has wanted since the birth of our son.
