The Academy of Country Music surprised Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert with Guinness World Records during rehearsals for the 2015 ACM Awards on Friday (April 17).

Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy of Country Music and Michael Empric, Guinness World Records adjudicator, were on hand to award Paisley his record for most consecutive wins as ACM Male Vocalist of the Year, an honor that he swept every year from 2006-2010.

Empric and Tiffany Moon, EVP, Managing Director of the Academy of Country Music, also gave Lambert her award for most consecutive wins as ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. The superstar has taken home the honor for five consecutive years.

Both artists are nominated in those categories again this year. Lambert leads the 2015 ACM Awards nominations with eight, including Entertainer, Album and Song of the Year.

She may be used to winning Female Vocalist by now, but Lambert admits being nominated for Entertainer of the Year is a different experience altogether.

“That’s the one you sort of think about whenever you’re 20 years old and starting this whole process. You think, ‘I want to nominated for Entertainer of the Year one day,’” she says. “And it’s scary, you know? It’s just such a huge category. Everybody in it deserves it. I mean, you don’t get there unless you work your butt off for all these years and so, I’m really proud to be the only female. I mean, I feel like I’m sort of waving the flag for all the other female artists who are up and coming. It’s a struggle right now with female artists and country.”
