November 23, 2012 There’s a 95 foot tall tree located in woodlands in Hebron, Maine that is believed to be the tallest American chestnut tree from Maine to Mississippi. A Maine forester has measured the tree and officials with the American Chestnut Foundation say it is thought to be the tallest. The tree is on the property of Ann Siekman, she and her husband thought they had a tall chestnut but not tallest on the East coast.
November 23, 2012 This Saturday, Christmas fills the air in Downtown Augusta. The annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration will feature plenty of events on Saturday in downtown Augusta, including Christmas at Old Fort Western. The family will enjoy a reading of The Night Before Christmas, caroling, hot chocolate and mulled cider will be served.

Thanksgiving always falls on the 4th Thursday in November and this year, the 1st was a Thursday, making Thanksgiving early. You have helped to donate 7 tons of food and about $3,700. That will go along way to feeding the hungry in central Maine. It's very much appreciated by the Augusta Salvation Army & the Waterville Salvation Army and many are food banks.
