Sharon’s First Time at the Fryeburg Fair!

What a BEAUTIFUL day it was yesterday! A perfect one for the very first day of the 162nd Fryeburg Fair to open on yesterday.

And what a fair it is!

You can't see it all in one day. Heck, you can't see it all in a WEEK! I ran into my friends Ricky and Tracy Austin of Norridgewock and Patty and Randy Dicker of Albion. They are both spending the week there in their campers. How lucky are they? But for us, we only had the day so we made the most of it!

Randy’s Childhood Flashback

Wow, talk about a flash back to a childhood memory! There are times in life when you see or hear something that instantly takes you back to a childhood memory and that happened to me the other day. I walked into work on Monday and the station had installed a new sink in the restroom. Not just any sink, a slop sink, you know, one of those big janitor type sinks, and ‘that’ caused the flashback!

Sharon Buck is an Organ Donor…Are You?

Just recently, my band Sharon Buck Dixon Road was playing at Crystal Falls in Chelsea. A pair of our fans came up to us before the show started and said they had to leave and they had a good excuse.

The woman had been contacted by the hospital saying they had a kidney for her.

What an incredible thing to happen!

Kids Tell the Greatest Stories!

While shopping in Walmart, and not having very much money to spend, the kids wanted to walk down the toy aisle. They wanted to get an idea of what Santa could bring them for Christmas.

Yeah, it's getting to that time a year.

In the middle of the aisle was a bunch of back to school stuff. And that's where I saw them.

What Haunted Place Should Sharon Explore Next?

Last year, Chad and I went to the Mill Agent House in Vassalboro to see if we could catch a ghost on camera, or experience anything...and I DID! Something tugged on my hair in the attic and I saw a bright flash of light in the bedroom.

You can see the whole story HERE!

I was FREAKED OUT!

This year, we'd like to explore again!

Making the Perfect S’more

Did you know it's an art form? Not me.

I never made s'mores as a kid. We never had extra money for things like that. So, when I met Chad he taught me about many things.

Including how to make the PERFECT S'more!

Little Boy Asks Santa To Help Stop Sister From Being Bullied

After reading this, I couldn't help but cry. It's so honest, sweet and, most of all, heartbreaking!

Bullying is everywhere. Just a few weeks ago, Brent Crisci from United Martial Arts, was in our studio talking about how he and others are trying to stop bullying in schools. He told the story of an 8-year old who committed suicide after no longer being able to the pressure of going to school where the bully would wait to torture the little boy.

This letter got me.

Sharon and Chad Watched ‘Rear Window’

I LOVE old movies. Chad has seen about every John Wayne movie out there a dozen times so he is no stranger to them either. When we first started dating I asked him to watch my FAVORITE movie with me 'Singin' in the Rain' and he enjoyed it.

Monday we COULD have watched football or baseball...but while he was in the kitchen getting himself a snack I was flipping channels. When I saw 'Rear Window' I had to watch it. It is such a great movie!

But would Chad enjoy it?

Central Maine Apple Orchard Guide

The apples are ready for picking and let the cider flow! One of my favorite childhood memories is the whole family getting together in the station wagon and going to our local apple orchard. We never picked apples, put we sure did down the cider and the apple pie! Many orchards having apple picking, hay rides and baked goods. Here's a guide of apple orchards throughout Central Maine.
