Blake Shelton was a big winner at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards: The country star was nominated in three categories, including two all-genre categories, and took home two trophies. In addition to earning a win in the Favorite Male Country Artist category, Shelton received the all-genre Favorite Album award — the first country artist to do so in the history of the PCAs. Carrie Underwood took home Favorite Female Country Artist, and Little Big Town earned Favorite Country Group.

The Eli Young Band‘s tour bus caught fire outside of Topeka, Kansas, in the early-morning hours of January 18. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but the vehicle, an attached trailer and nearly everything in them is a complete loss. None of the Eli Young Band’s members was aboard the bus at the time.

Garth Brooks‘decision to not perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration or the events surrounding it was based on his tour schedule. Brooks’ good friend Steve Wynn is in charge of the entertainment portion of the 2017 presidential inauguration, and according to the singer, the two talked about the possibility of Brooks performing but he needed to expand his World Tour stop in Cincinnati, Ohio, due to fan demand so couldn’t perform.
