Blake Shelton has been announced as a performer for the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. Shelton is nominated for three awards at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. Favorite Male Country Artist and the all-genre Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album categories; The Voice, the TV singing competition on which Shelton is a judge, is also nominated for an award, for Favorite Competition TV show. The 2017 People’s Choice Awards are set to air on January 18 on CBS at 9PM.

The in-development ‘Southern Gothic soap opera’ starring Reba McEntire on ABC has officially been ordered a pilot episode. The pilot order, explains that the unnamed drama show’s plot centers around Ruby Adair (McEntire), the sheriff of the small town of Oxblood, Kentucky, and a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent (who is described as “cocky”). The FBI agent is in Oxblood to help Adair solve a horrific crime after a suspected act of terrorism happens at a Fourth of July parade, and they form an uneasy alliance as Adair introduces the agent to bizarre characters in the community, uncovering even darker secrets.

 

The Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame has announced its inaugural class of inductees. The Class of 2017 includes Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Red Simpson, Billy Mize and Bonnie Owens will be inducted into the Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame during a special ceremony on January 27. The inductees will each be commemorated with a life-sized vinyl portrait and summary of their achievements to be placed on the Hall of Fame’s walls, as well as with a star, placed in the Hall of Fame’s concrete walkway.
