Country News: CMT Artist of the Year Ceremony to be a Night of Healing and Hope
CMT’s annual Artists of the Year ceremony on October 18 will be a night of hope and healing in the wake of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shootings. According to theboot.com the plan is to put the focus on the power of music rather than on the 2017 Artists of the Year honorees.
A number of country artists have been nominated for the 2017 American Music Awards. Garth Brooks, Maren Morris and Sam Hunt are on the list with Garth Brooks the only one in the all-genre category. Theboot.com tells us Brooks will be in the Tour of the Year category. Other country stars on the list include Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Little Big Town. The show air’s November 19 on ABC.
Up and coming country star Ashley McBryde recently had her car broken into and has a message to the people that did it: ‘Dear a–holes that broke into the rental and stole my guitar and our promo gear, Enjoy my Copenhagen, ‘I hope you get scurvy. Love, Ash.’ Theboot.com says her beloved guitar called ‘Dinah’ was not stolen.
