Country News: Early ACM Winners
The Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris and Jon Pardi are early 2017 ACM Awards winners! They’ve been named New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, New Female Vocalist of the Year and New Male Vocalist of the Year, respectively. In the same press release, the ACM also revealed that all three acts will be performing during the 2017 ACM Awards in early April.
Plenty of country songs have been inspired by heartbreak, love lost, divorce and failed relationships — but it’s unlikely you’ll hear Brett Young singing that sort of country song. In a recent interview the rising singer-songwriter explained how his parents’ happy, 37-year marriage has influenced his songwriting. He says his parents’ are an example of a loving, caring relationship and that has affected his songwriting allowing him to write love songs that people could connect to without sounding like you’re being cheesy.
Ned LeDoux says he has music in his blood. His father is the late rodeo champion-turned-country star Chris LeDoux, the younger LeDoux spent much of his childhood and early adult years playing drums in his father’s band and learning from some of the best country musicians in the world. Now LeDoux has stepped out on his own with his debut studio EP ‘Forever a Cowboy.’ He’s hoping to honor his father’s legacy will making a name for himself in country music.
