Country News: George Strait in Vegas
George Strait will return to Las Vegas in 2017 for a limited run of very special dates at the T-Mobile Arena, giving fans an all-new show in a very special format. Billed as 2 Nights of Number 1s, the limited engagement will span four weekends.
The special shows will comprise back-to-back nights of No. 1 hits from Strait, featuring live performances of his record-breaking run of 60 No. 1 singles, as well as fan favorites over the course of each weekend. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Cam will join Strait as his support act for the special performances. George Strait, 2 Nights of Number 1s Dates: April 7-8--- July 28-29--- Sept. 1-2--- Dec. 8-9.
Dan + Shay are looking ahead to 2017. The duo announced this week that they plan to spend an extended time on the road, as they have added 24 cities to their current Obsessed Tour. The closets they will come to Maine is Dec. 16 – New York, N.Y. @ Playstation Theater and Dec. 17 – Boston, Mass. @ House of Blues.
Dolly Parton continues to leave her mark on education. The iconic singer recently gifted a 2-year-old a $30,000 college scholarship. Evey Johns from Conway, Ark., was announced as the recipient of a college scholarship during Parton’s Pure & Simple Tour stop in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Nov. 15 after she enrolled in Parton’s Imagination Library, a literary program which gifts one million books to children around the world each month.
