Country News: Thomas Rhett Says CMA’s Nerve Wracking

With the CMA Awards coming on November 8th Thomas Rhett says, for him, the awards are nerve wracking. According to theboot.com Rhett won his first CMA last year taking home Single of the Year for his song Die a Happy Man. Rhett says all you do is sit there thinking of the other people in the category with you and thinking I’m going to lose the award because there are so many talented people in country music.

Carrie Underwood didn’t tour much this year but in 2018 she will headline the WE Fest. Theboot.com tells us the WE Fest runs Augusta 2-4 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Underwood joins Jason Aldrean and Florida Georgia Line as headliners. Underwood will host the CMA’s with Brad Paisley in November and and will also be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of fame.

Granger Smith had a top 5 album with Remington and a number one song with Backroad Song but has yet to have his name called for a CMA Award. He tells theboot.com he pays attention to that award show because ‘that stuff’ is important to him. Smith says despite not hearing his name as a nominee for an award he feels like he is part of a greater country music community.
