Country News: Vince Gill’s Daughter to Release EP
Willie Nelson has taken a part in an ambitious project from actor Woody Harrelson: The country star and actor will appear in the first-ever ‘live cinema’ event, titled Lost in London. Lost in London was inspired by a 2002 incident, when Harrelson broke an ashtray in the back of a London cab and wound up spending a night in jail. The actor wrote the film, and will direct and star in it, along with, Nelson and Owen Wilson. Not much else is known about the event.
Jenny Gill, daughter of Vince Gill, will release her debut EP, 'The House Sessions', on February 17. The EP will blend country, Americana and blues to create a unique sound of a women who has grown up surrounded by good music: Her father, Vince, of course, has released 20 studio albums and won more Grammy awards than any other male country artist, but, additionally, her mother is Janis Oliver, who is one-half of the country duo Sweethearts of the Rodeo, and her stepmom is Amy Grant.
Little Jimmy Dickens returned to the Grand Ole Opry stage . Madame Tussauds unveiled its wax figure of Dickens during the evening’s Opry at the Ryman show. Dickens’ wax figure made to look like the singer in the 1960s is perched on a stool and playing an acoustic guitar with ‘Jimmy Dickens’ written in script on its pick guard. Bill Anderson and Brad Paisley were on hand at the Opry on Saturday night to help with the Dickens figures unveiling.
