Eight-year-old Cordelia Whatman has penned a touching thankyou note to her organ donor, thanking them for her life saving transplant.

Cordelia was born with Biliary Atresia, which causes inflammation of the bile ducts, and needed a liver transplant when she was just 16 months old. Here’s the note:

“When I was little, I had a sick liver and I was yellow. I couldn’t walk or stand up. Now I love to run and I play netball. The best thing about my day is when I can play with my friends. I love to draw, read and play Minecraft. If I didn’t have a liver transplant I wouldn’t be able to do these things. I am very lucky I got a liver transplant and that my donor was so generous. I thank my donor very much.”
