Gangnam Style Video Surpasses 2 Billion Views on YouTube
South Korean pop star Psy and his single and video for the song ‘Gangnam Style’ set a record on YouTube as the first video to pass the two billion view mark. It was uploaded in July of 2012 and in 17 months became the first video to reach the one billion view mark.
It seems to be as popular as ever, even nearly two years on YouTube.
Gangnam is a district in Seoule, South Korea and considered the most affluent part of the area. ‘Gangnam Style’ is associated with upscale fashion and trendsetters in that area.
‘Gangnam Style surpassed the previous title hold on YouTube, Justin Bieber and his 2010 video for ‘Baby’. Psy’s video has now more than doubled Bieber’s. Here the video, see what all the fuss is about.
