It's been quite a year for George Strait. The country music superstar wrapped up his sold-out farewell The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, starred in a two-hour TV special, 'George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away' and will release his live album, 'The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium.' He's also nominated for his 83rd CMA Award, for Entertainer of the Year, capping off one of the most memorable years of his career.

"It's a great honor to be nominated for CMA Entertainer of the Year,” he says. “It's been an incredible year, and this just puts the icing on the cake!"

Strait, who is the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, has been nominated for the night's highest honor 19 times and taken home the trophy three times. He is also the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and holds more than 60 major awards, including a 2008 Grammy for his album 'Troubadour.'

The 48th annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 5 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
