Maine Gas Prices Rocket Up 16 Cents Per Gallon
In what has been a race of which will go up faster, the temperature or the price of gas, it's been neck and neck, but I think the price of gas wins. The price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reported today that the average retail cost of a gallon of gas in Maine rocketed up 16 cents in just the past week. The average gallon of gas in Maine is now $3.69.That is just part of the nationwide trend, the national average was up 12 cents per gallon to $3.62 a gallon.
New Hampshire is the only New England state under the national average, with a gallon of gas costing $3.60.
South Carolina has the country's lowest average gas price at $3.27 a gallon.
The lowest gas prices in Maine were found in Lewiston at $3.53 a gallon.
