NASCAR Will Use Chase Cup Rules for Infinity and Truck Series
NASCAR Infinity and World truck Series will use the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series formula of an elimination-based playoff format.
According to NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France, the new approach not only builds on the resounding success of the Chase for the Sprint Cup but provides a training ground for drivers who ultimately will compete at NASCAR's highest level.
Since the Sprint Cup Series format has been so successful, and drivers in lower divisions are trying to get to the higher level of Sprint Cup, the elimination format makes sense. The idea is to have format consistent from bottom to top.
