The current secondary NASCAR race is the Nationwide series but that may change soon. NASCAR and Comcast’s Xfinity are in negotiations to become the title sponsor. It would be a five to six year deal at more than $100 million with the first year’s rights and activation fees $9 million for each or $18 million.

Comcast is not commenting of the possibility of being the new sponsor although it is believed negotiations have moved in to the contract phase. NASCAR has been searching for a replacement sponsor as Nationwide Insurance decided last year not to renew their contract after it ends this season.
