A giant spider, about the size of puppy, was found in the Guyana rainforest. Its called a Goliath bird-eating tarantula and is considered the largest spider in the world. It can weigh up to a half of a pound, big for a spider.

Entomologist Piotr Naskricki discovered the spider after one surprised him during a nighttime walk in the rainforest. At first he thought it was possum or rat when he heard the rustling of an animal running. It wasn’t an animal it was the Guinness Book of World Records largest spider in the world. Piotr says it may be the only spider in the world that makes noise when it walks. He compares it to the sound of horse’s hooves.
