Randy’s College Football Wrap Up
College Bowl games got underway and things seem to go the way the odds makers figured. In the New Orleans Bowl, Louisiana-Lafayette was a 1 point underdog to Nevada but that didn’t seem to make a difference. They won 16-3
In the New Mexico Bowl, Utah State’s defense was just too much for UTEP holding them to a total of 175 yards. The Aggies have now won their third straight bowl beating UTEP 21-6.
The Las Vegas Bowl was never really close as Utah beat Colorado State 45-10. The big difference was the rushing yards as Utah had 359 to Colorado States 12.
The Idaho Potato Bowl was close but Air Force beat Western Michigan 38-24. Western Michigan cut the Air Force lead to 6 in the fourth quarter but a 60 yards fumble recovery for a touchdown sealed the win for the Falcons.
The closest game of the day was Bowling Green and South Alabama. When it was over Bowling Green won 33-28. Most of the stats in the game where as close as the score and the two teams combined for 915 yards of offense. Bowling Green had 500 of them.
