The Boston Red Sox made a blockbuster trade to make their pitching staff much stronger for next year. The picked-up, in a trade with the Chicago White Sox, the got left-hander Chris Sale.
Sale, on of the best pitcher in the Majors over the last 5 years will receive highly touted infield prospect Yoan Moncada, pitching prospect Michael Kopech and minor leaguers Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz.

Sale will join David Price and Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello and All-Star knuckleballer Steven Wright in a rotation that should be one of the tops in baseball.
Sale is 74-50 with a 3.00 ERA and 1,244 strikeouts in 1,110 innings pitched over his seven seasons with the White Sox.

Major League Baseball has made a rule change for next year too. The annual All-Star game winner will no longer determine the home team for the World Series. Starting next year the home team will be team that has the best record. Not necessarily the best record in baseball but the best record between the two teams in the World Series.
