The inevitable departure of 'SNL' vet and Weekend Update host Seth Meyers has not yet befallen fans of the long-running sketch comedy series, though when Meyers leaves Saturdays behind for 'Late Night,' co-anchor Cecily Strong will not fly solo at the Weekend Update desk. 'SNL''s head writer Colin Jost has officially been selected to fill Meyers' seat, but is he up for the task?

Via Deadline, Jost will move on camera to the Weekend Update desk beginning March 1, as Meyers remains with the program and, thus, its weekly segment until then. Jost has operated as 'SNL''s head writer since 2012, having joined the staff in 2005 and earning eight Emmy nominations over the course of his tenure. Jost is also the third head writer to transition to Weekend Update host, following Seth Meyers and Tina Fey before him.

Jost's ascension to the Weekend Update desk is just the latest of 'SNL''s changes in 2014, including the addition of cast member Sasheer Zamata, as well as writing staff additions, LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones. 'Wolf of Wall Street' star Jonah Hill will host for the third time this coming weekend alongside musical guest Bastille, while Melissa McCarthy will take the stage on February 1 with Imagine Dragons.

We have until March 1 until Colin Jost takes the desk, but what say you? Will you miss Seth Meyers giving us our Weekend Update? Does anyone deserve to gloat more than our glorious overlord editor-in-chief, Mike Sampson?
