California Chrome

The horse that cost only $10,000 did it again; California Chrome won the Preakness and can become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978. He needs to win on June 7th at the Belmont Stakes to make history. Co-owner Steve Coburn, 61, doesn’t think there will be a Triple Crown winner in his lifetime, meaning he doesn’t think Chrome will do it.

California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby and the first leg of the Triple Crown, not bad for a horse that only cost $8,000. Most horses that run in these types of races cost millions but ‘Chrome’ is described as a working man’s horse.
