Man Accused of Killing His Grandmother in Wilton

State Police say a man is in custody and charged with murder for the death of his grandmother in Wilton. Her body was found in the backyard of the mobile home the two shared.

Police were called to the mobile home at 1130 Weld Road Saturday (Dec. 20) afternoon for a wellness check. When they arrived, they found the body of 67-year-old Joanne Goudreau in the backyard.

Leroy Smith III of Gardiner made his first court appearance (May 8) today. He's accused of killing his father, 56-year-old Leroy Smith II at their Gardiner home on Cannard Street.
