As 2012 comes to a close, you'll read 'best and worst of' lists. I want to keep this upbeat and only focus on the good. I am a television junkie and I like my share of what I call 'fast-food' television. Shows that are entertaining but really don't have much substance to them. However, I wanted to take this time to select my television show of the year.
Since the golden age of television, there have been milestone comedy shows. In the 1950's we watched I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners. In the 1960's we saw great comedies like 'The Beverly Hillbillies' and the 'Dick Van Dyke Show.' In the 1970's there was 'All In The Family' and the 'Mary Tyler Moore Show.' The 1980's saw 'The Cosby Show' and 'Cheers.'
Augusta,Maine will be featured this weekend on Book TV on C-SPAN2 and American History TV on C-SPAN3. C-SPAN producers were in the city in September to record the programs. Augusta was chosen to part of C-SPAN's tour that highlights the historical and literary aspects of mid-sized cities across the country.
Fall is a great time of year, football season is starting, apple season is here, the crisp cool nights, the fall foliage and the new television season!
