Texting While Walking Becoming a Nationwide Problem

We have heard over and over not to text while driving (good advice) but as people are taking heed to that advice, a new problem with texting has arrived. Walking while texting. Some cities are considering laws that would make it unlawful to text while crossing an intersection.

There are about 1,000 ER visits nationwide, involving 80 separate hospitals, treating texting while walking injuries. It is kind of funny to see someone walk into a pole while texting and not watching were their going, but some injuries are more serious, broken bones, fractures and serious cuts. There have been some close calls reported too, some people have walked into traffic and almost got hit by a car.
