What to be a ‘real man?’ According to Health and Fitness Cheat Sheet there are four skills every man should know. These are skills that may impress a first date or a skill you may be able to pass on to your son.

Here are the four essential skills they say you need:

  1. Changing a tire. A man should be able to change a tire instead of waiting for AAA to show up. You should know how the jack works and fits on the car, how to loosen lug nuts and where you spare tire is.
  2. How to use a hammer. You don’t have to know how build a house but learning how to swing a hammer is a good skill to have. Think of hanging pictures around the house as a basic skill.
  3. How to provide food for you family. You don’t have to be a hunter and forage for food, but knowing how to grow food in a garden is an opportunity to spend time with your family.
  4. Basic maintenance skills. This can cover anything from fixing a leaky faucet or toilet to cleaning out dryer exhausts and changing air filters in your home.

These are basic skills but the best thing about knowing how to do this stuff is it will save you money by not having to hire some for these simple tasks.
