The latest Lundberg Survey shows that gas prices in the United States have dropped by 46 cents a gallon over the past two months. The average price of regular gasoline is $3.38 a gallon. That's down almost 10 cents in the past three weeks. The average price of a gallon of gas in Maine is at $3.51.

According to Trilby Lundberg, the prices will continue to go lower as refiners cut how much they're charging distributors and retailers. The Lundberg survey monitors prices at thousands of gas stations nationwide.

Long Island, New York, had the highest average in the latest survey, at $3.85. The lowest average was in Memphis, Tennessee, at $3.04.
